The Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka was honored by the City of Eureka during Tuesday’s City Council meeting for its support of the City’s Park and Recreation Department’s CAPE (Community Access Program for Eureka).  Proceeds from the club’s June Martinis By The Bay event support the city’s CAPE Breakfast Club program which provides transportation to city parks and summer activities and breakfast for children, many of whom would be unable to attend without the club’s contributions.  A check for $6000 was presented by club Past-President and Eureka City Council member Melinda Ciarabellini to CAPE Supervisor Brian Millett.  In honor of the club’s support of CAPE, a plaque was presented to club President Roland Johnson by Millett to recognize the club’s entry into the City of Eureka League of Heroes.  The Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka is the first inductee into the League.
